To equip healthcare professionals with comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of meningococcal disease – from epidemiology and clinical presentation through to diagnosis, treatment, vaccination strategies and outbreak preparedness to enhance early recognition, optimize evidence-based clinical decision-making, and implement targeted preventive care within the Indian healthcare context.
MeningoSphere is a self-paced online certification course developed for Indian healthcare professionals and delivered through the Engage platform. Across four expert-led modules totalling approximately 100 minutes of learning, the programme takes clinicians on a structured journey through the evolving landscape of meningococcal disease.
The course begins with the changing epidemiology of meningococcal disease globally and in India, including serogroup distribution, atypical presentations commonly missed in practice, and long-term complications. It then moves into diagnostic pathways – covering CSF analysis, PCR, neuroimaging and India-specific antibiotic protocols – supported by real-world case studies in paediatric and adult crisis management.
The course also addresses vaccination and prevention, including conjugate and protein-based vaccines, updated immunisation schedules, high-risk populations and strategies for tackling vaccine hesitancy. The programme concludes with outbreak control, public health response frameworks and future preparedness.
Each module includes an end-of-module assessment. Upon successful completion of all four assessments, participants receive a certificate of completion.
By the end of this course, participants will:
MBBS, MD (Paediatrics), PG Diploma in Health Science and Adolescent Health Care,
MBBS, MD- Paediatrics, Professor of Paediatrics and an Ex-Professor at CCM Government Medical College,
